Context
The owner wanted a practical upgrade for a home in Dubai South — a floor that handles daily traffic and UAE humidity without the maintenance of real wood, plus fibre decorative molding on the walls to sharpen room proportions and hide uneven plaster lines.
Challenges
- Existing floor levels and subfloor flatness had to be checked before SPC could go down — rigid-core plank only looks good on a flat plane.
- Wall molding had to align with door frames and existing skirting so junctions read clean from every angle.
- Furniture and fixed joinery at the perimeter needed protection during both trades.
Work completed
SPC flooring (full floor)
- Measured and quoted supply-and-install for SPC (stone-plastic composite) plank across the living areas and bedrooms in scope.
- Subfloor inspection, minor levelling where required, and suitable underlay for click-lock stability.
- Plank layout planned from the main sightline with balanced starter rows and expansion gaps at perimeters.
- Transitions at door lines and thresholds; skirting reinstated or adjusted to cover expansion gaps cleanly.
Fibre molding on walls
- Fibre decorative molding supplied and fixed on walls — profiles selected to suit ceiling height and room scale.
- Joints filled and sanded; corners mitred where visible.
- Surfaces left paint-ready so the owner or our paint team could finish in the chosen colour.
Results
The home reads fresher: a consistent SPC floor underfoot and sharper wall lines from the molding package. The scope was documented start-to-finish so the owner had a clear record of materials and finishes.
